"New Orleans gets flood help; Memphis breathes easier", is an article posted on msnbc.msn.com, posted by the mssnbc.com news service. The article is talking about how there were recently floods in Memphis. It also explains how they are trying to drain all the water. I found this article intersesting because I'm not quite sure how it will work. But, I hope they are able to do it.

In the MSNBC news “Orleans gets flood help; Memphis breathes easier” by a journalist for the Associated Press on 5/9/2011 at 9:31PM is about opening spillways to help relive the flooding. This is written for everyone who is interested in the flooding. The flooding got so bad that decided to open the spillways to help the river go in a different direction. They opened spillway to make the water move away from homes and businesses. My reaction to the news report is that I think that it is really sad of how many people lost their home because of flooding. I am glad that they are opening up spillway to help the river go in different directions.

The title for this week's Article of the Week is called, "New Orleans gets flood help; Memphis breathes easier." This artilce is about the MASSIVE amounts of water there is in Memphis, Tennessee, Louisianna, and Misourri. It was published on May 9th, 2011 and can be found on the msnbc website. This article focuses on the waterflow in those states, and how it is a record high sincce the late 1920's and early 30's. The water amaounts in those areas is very dangerous, and should not be taken lightly. My main concern with this tragety is, what is going to happened to all these individuals that live in these areas, and or around them? Is this going to be a spin-off of Hurricane Katrina, but instead have it happen by a riverflow. My other main concern i have is, how did all this water get to where it is today? What happened for this amount of water to be where it is, damaging most of the stuff in its path?

The title of this article is "New Orleans gets flood help; Memphis breathes easier and it is found on msnbc.com. I don't think it says what time it was posted or who wrote it. The purpose of this article is to inform the readers about what the U.S. goverment is doing about the flooding in the mississippi river. The intended audience is the people in the U.S especialy the people who live near the mississippi river. I think that it was a good idea to redirect the water flow into a lake. I also feel bad for the people in Memphis because there town is flooded. All those people's house, cars, and the stuff inside there houses are in feets of murky water. Also for the other people in other towns that are flooded from the mississippi river. It must suck for them and I hope that water goes down faster than expect.

May 9, 2011 is the date MSNBC published the devastating news that Tennessee, Louisianna, and Misourri had a disasterous amount of water flooding. "New Orleans gets Flood Help;Mempis Breathes Easier," informs people about what has been going on in these states, and that this is a very serious tragedy, and should not be overlooked. It is told that this flooding is almost as bad as the previous flooding back in 1927! People all over could learn about this horrific disaster, and try to understand that you should be thankful for what you have, because a lot of people loose there homes from natural disasters all the time. When I read this article, my heart really went out to all those people who have lost their home, or a family member, and it made me relize what I have, and that I shouldn't take everything for granted.

This weeks article is titled "New Orleans gets flood help; Memphis breathes easier." On msnbc.com posted by msnbc.com new services on May 9, 2011. This article is about how there is tons of water going to overflow in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Memphis. It is almost at the crest. I think this story is heart-breaking because it's no ones fault. But the people of their hometowns are going to have to evacuate,or already did. They're going to lose not only their house but ALL of their belongings and memories. Imagine having to move out of your house because of a flood? I'd be furious but also extremely sad moving out of "home".It's very sad.
