Warm Up:
Think of a story you know (could be a children's story, a TV episode, a movie, etc.) and what you think the theme may have been. In a brief paragraph (5 sentences) tell what the theme is, and explain why you think so with details from the story.
Activity
In pairs develop a theme statement for "The Most Dangerous Game" and find at least one quotation from the text to support your assertion.
Reminders:
Theme Statement = 1 sentence lesson about life learned through a story.
is NOT about plot or characters
**EACH person must write their own notes in their Interactive Notebook (LEFT) even though you work together to develop the theme statement and example.**
