1984 End Quiz Friday
Answer as completely as possible, a paragraph for each question and yes this one requires use of your book (if you have it).
1.) Explain the following thought Winston has: “Why should the fruit be held inferior to the flower?” What is this an analogy to? What does he mean by it? (You can find this quote about a page and a half into part 2 chapter X, at the end of a paragraph.)
2.) Read the passage in chapter three that begins in the third paragraph with “As you lie there…” and ends two pages later with “Now do you begin to understand me?” Comment on your understanding of what is going on here.
3.) What was your reaction to the last sentence of the book? Did you see this coming? Do you believe it? Why or why not?
