Article of the Week #12 (11/8-14/2010)

Here is the article of the week for the week of Nov. 8, 2010.

Please be sure to respond in a complete paragraph, using complete sentences and your BRAIN. Think!!!!

This is an essay by Albert Einstein. If you find it difficult, read it again, it's short. For the main idea, after you have read the whole thing (yes, I want you to read all of the sentences, in order, at least once), think to yourself: what was this about? answer it in 1 sentence or less and you've got the main idea. I also want to know what you think about it, remember, respond in an academically appropriate manner, and with some thought, I want you to think for yourself! Do you agree? disagree? see things from a different point of view? know of an example? Share! Think! you've got a brain between your ears, use it!!

"An Ideal Of Service To Our Fellow Man", an essay written by Albert Einstin, I felt it was strongly geared towards the more younger audince, not necessatrily children, but more like young adults. It looked like he was trying to help the readers to understand the basic behavior of (most of them annyways) "Human-Kind" as Albert said it. I felt it was written very strongly and made a-lot of sense. After I read it about five times.

This article is called "An Ideal of Service to Our Fellow Man" It was actually an essay written by the man that narrates it.The main idea that I got from reading this article was that in society everyone has skills and special talents that should not go to waste and we should use them wisely.I read this article a couple of times and listened to the audio and I think that it is talking about mankind and their abilities to succed and I think even if that was not the central message it is an important message from this essay because I see Albert Einstein as a very inspirational person and how he used his ideas and talents to make the world a better place.

  7. This article is about Albert Einstein. He is one of my idols. He was not scared to break the laws of physics. He is also the most acclaimed genius in the world. He created the equation for energy E=mc squared. When he was little he refused to talk until he could speak perfectly.

Ok Mrs. Coats, I have read this article 3 times, and to be honest with you, I really dont understand it. My opinion is that he is talking about being yourself and religion, or something like that? I tried thinking for myself, and rereading it many times, but I still don't understand his technical language. I tried figuring out the main idea he was pursueing, and it just made me even more confused. Im sorry I can't understand this.

THIS WEEKS ARTICLE WAS TITLED AN IDEAL OF SERVICE TO OUR FELLOW MAN. IT CAME FROM A BLOG CALLED THIS I BELIVE. IT WAS PUBLISHED BY ALBERT EINSTINE GENERAL THEROY OF RELATIVITY IN 1916. THE PURPOSE OF THE ARTICLE WAS THE WAYS EINSTINE FEELS ABOUT THE EVILS IN SOCITEY AND HOW HE THINKS THEY CAN BE SOLVED. THE INTENDED AUDIENCE IS TEENS AND ADULTS. THE MAIN IDEA WAS THAT EINSTINE HAD A VEIW OF HOW THE WORLD SHOULD BE. MY THOUGHTS ON THIS ARTICLE IS THAT EINSTINE WAS CORRECT THAT YOU NEED TO HAVE A GOOD ECONOMY AND GOOD EDUCATION TO HAVE THE EVILS OF MANS BEHAVJOR. I THINK THAT THIS ARTICLE WAS REALLY CONFUSING AT FIRST BUT THEN YOU LOOK OVER IT AND IT MAKES MORE SENSE.

    I thought I posted it Sunday 11/14.

The article “An Ideal of Service to our Fellow Man,” by Albert Einstein, was on the “ This I believe “ website but was originally broadcasted during the 1950’s. The purpose of this article was to get people to think about what our culture needs. Its written to all adults. Mr. Einstein wanted the community to find “beauty in life’s mysteries” and that the future of people depends on citizens choosing to serve others instead of themselves. Art and science keep people thinking about mysteries of the world. A good goal for mankind should be to help every individual be their best, so they can help everyone else. My reaction to this article is that at first, I was very confused, but after discussing this article with my mom I understand it.

"An Ideal of Service to Our Fellow Man" is about what we should do for our "Fellow Man" so to speak. I think this essay was very interesting and the way Einstein thought extraordinary. This article was very hard to understand but after the 3rd time through you start to get it and I agree. I agree that man's behavior is effectively grounded on social bonds and nurture but I'm not quite sure about compassion. I think anybody can get this essay if they take the time to think about it and I hope they do.

"An Ideal of Service to Our Fellow Man" is actually an essay written by Albert Einstien himself in New Jersey, brodcasted on 1950 it was published on ThisIbelieve.org for anyone to read. This essay is mostly towards adults, i think he wasw talking about religion and how the laws of nature have many rules to follow. Its kinda like its pointing out how we need to be careful...and how there are many evils and tricks in this world. You need to be cautious and be yourself and never let anyone get into your mind and trick you. This article is still very confusing ive tried very hard to get it to make sense but i am still a bit puzzled. I find it very well written though and i enjoyed seeing how smart Einstien really was.

The purpose of this article was to tell people about the evils of worrying about your place in society, and your ego. The intended audience was for adults, and talks about the tricks and control your mind can play on you. You can't worry about your duty to society, or the life after. If you do you won't have time to live. My reaction to this article, was that it was written very well, and has a good point.
